Dr. Melanie Green, ND practices Naturopathic Medicine at Sacred Root Medicine.

Her first introduction to integrative care and holistic healing came by way of her years spent as a yoga teacher in Portland, Oregon where she attended Portland State University to study English Literature. Identifying with health and healing as an unfolding story of the body and the individual’s process, she found great inspiration in learning of the interconnected, whole systems approach of Naturopathic Medicine. When she discovered there was a means to provide holistic care with a core focus on hearing the patient, treating the root cause of imbalance and using the healing power of nature as first line treatment options, she then began her life’s work of studying integral healing with modalities of Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Green understands the importance of individualized, relationship-based care and aspires to create depth over time with each of her patients. In doing so, she finds greater opportunity for patients to access engagement in their own healing to create measurable change with authenticity, sustainability and personal empowerment. As a mother of four children, she also intimately knows that creating a state of well-being within can enhance quality of life for individuals, relationships, families and communities as a collective whole. 

Dr. Green is a graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She holds additional training in Women’s Health, Mind-Body Medicine, Somatic Healing, Pelvic Floor Therapy, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. In addition, her extensive experience in mental health results from formerly working as the Naturopathic Doctor and Residency Director at The Center: A Place of Hope, a treatment center for patients struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and eating disorders located in Edmonds, WA.
